Although the municipality Tešanj is relatively small municipality (slightly over 160 km²), but by the population density (305 km²) it is at the top, which itself generates a high level of the activity in a small space. The activity of the people who live here is special; a willingness to make bold decisions and take over the risks is one of the competitive advantages of the municipality Tešanj compared to other environments.
The Tešanj’s economy based in the period 1945-1991 in the automobile industry (Pobjeda, Unico filter, Enker, FAD) on the basis of the social ownership, a reliable carrier of the development in the same period has survived the transition period and under the private ownership and the new global market conditions continued to operate successfully.
Only 15 years after the terrible and unnecessary destruction, the economic potential in the area of ​​the Tešanj has expanded and raised itself to a higher level. Some companies did not survive the transition, but the activities did. Moreover, the new companies have been developed from the ground up, with the new markets and stable business that now employ more workers than in 1991.
